Dermal Fillers Atlanta

Restore volume, smooth lines, and refresh your appearance — naturally and safely

Looking for dermal fillers in Atlanta? As we age, our faces lose volume. Cheeks flatten, lips thin, lines deepen around the mouth and nose, and the jawline softens. Dermal fillers restore that lost volume and smooth out wrinkles—without surgery, without general anesthesia, and usually in under an hour.

At Taylor Medical Group, Dr. Ava Bell-Taylor performs all filler injections personally. Because we’re also a full integrative medical practice, we can address aging from the inside out too—combining cosmetic treatments with hormone optimization, nutrition, and longevity services for a complete approach. We serve patients from Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Buckhead, Brookhaven, and across metro Atlanta.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable gels that restore volume, smooth wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. Most fillers are made from hyaluronic acid (HA)—a substance your body naturally produces to keep skin hydrated and plump. As you age, your body produces less HA, collagen, and elastin. That’s why your face loses fullness over time.

Fillers work by replacing that lost volume. They’re injected beneath the skin exactly where you need them. Results are immediate—you walk out looking refreshed, not “done.” And because we use hyaluronic acid-based fillers, they can be dissolved if you ever want to reverse the results.

The goal isn’t to change how you look. It’s to restore what time has taken away.

Treatment Areas

Dermal fillers can be used almost anywhere on the face where volume has been lost:

Cheeks — Restoring the fullness and lift that makes faces look youthful. Cheek filler also helps reduce the appearance of nasolabial folds.

Nasolabial Folds — The lines that run from your nose to the corners of your mouth. Fillers soften these creases for a more rested look.

Lips — Adding volume, defining the lip border, and smoothing vertical lip lines. We focus on natural, proportional results.

Marionette Lines — The lines that run from the corners of your mouth down toward your chin. These can make you look sad or angry even when you’re not.

Under Eyes — Hollow, dark circles under the eyes (tear troughs) can be filled to reduce that tired, sunken appearance.

Jawline and Chin — Sharpening the jawline, adding chin projection, and restoring definition that’s been lost with age.

Temples — Hollow temples make you look older and gaunt. Filler here restores a fuller, more youthful facial frame.

Hands — The backs of the hands lose volume too. Filler can reduce visible veins and tendons for smoother, younger-looking hands.

Types of Fillers We Use

Different areas of the face need different types of filler. Thicker fillers provide structure and lift. Thinner fillers smooth fine lines and add subtle volume. Dr. Taylor selects the right product for each treatment area:

Hyaluronic Acid (HA)

Most popular choice. Natural-looking, reversible, lasts 6-18 months depending on product and area. Brands include Juvederm and Restylane.

Sculptra

A collagen stimulator that builds volume gradually over weeks. Results can last 2+ years. See our Sculptra page for details.

What to Expect

1

Consultation — We discuss your goals, examine your facial structure, and recommend a treatment plan. Dr. Taylor will explain exactly what filler can and can’t do for you.

2

Preparation — The treatment area is cleaned and a topical numbing cream is applied. Most fillers also contain lidocaine for added comfort during injection.

3

Injection — The filler is injected using fine needles or cannulas. The entire process takes 15 to 45 minutes depending on how many areas are treated.

4

Aftercare — You can return to normal activities immediately. Mild swelling and bruising are common and resolve within a few days. Final results settle in within 1-2 weeks.

Benefits of Dermal Fillers

Immediate Results — You see improvement right away. No waiting weeks or months for results to appear.

No Surgery — No incisions, no general anesthesia, no recovery time. Most patients go right back to work.

Natural-Looking — When done well, fillers look completely natural. People notice you look refreshed—not that you had “work done.”

Reversible — Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if you’re unhappy with results.

Customizable — Every face is different. We tailor the type, amount, and placement of filler to your unique facial anatomy and goals.

Fillers vs. Botox — What’s the Difference?

Dermal Fillers

Add volume. Fill wrinkles and folds. Restore lost fullness. Best for cheeks, lips, nasolabial folds, jawline.

Botox

Relaxes muscles. Prevents wrinkles caused by movement. Best for forehead lines, crow’s feet, frown lines.

Many patients benefit from both. Fillers restore volume while Botox prevents dynamic wrinkles. Together, they provide a complete facial rejuvenation without surgery.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do fillers last?

It depends on the product and the treatment area. Lip fillers typically last 6-9 months. Cheek and jawline fillers last 12-18 months. Sculptra can last 2+ years.

Does it hurt?

Most patients describe it as mild pressure or a pinch. We use topical numbing cream and most fillers contain lidocaine to minimize discomfort. Most people tolerate it very well.

Will I look overdone?

Not with us. Dr. Taylor takes a conservative, natural approach. We start with less and add more if needed. The goal is to look like a refreshed version of yourself—not someone else.

What’s the recovery time?

There’s essentially no downtime. You may have mild swelling or bruising for a few days. Most patients return to all normal activities the same day.

Can fillers be removed if I don’t like the results?

Yes. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme injection called hyaluronidase. This is one of the major advantages of HA fillers—they’re completely reversible.
