How does Radiofrequency Microneedling work?

radiofrequency-microneedling-before-and-after

Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling  is an FDA approved non-invasive treatment that uses radiofrequency or microwaves to tighten loose skin. The radiofrequency (RF) energy uniformly heats the dermis while cooling and protecting the epidermis.  It is designed to cause immediate collagen contraction followed by new collagen and elastin production which occurs over a period of time.

The RF energy causes immediate collagen contraction followed by new collagen production which occurs over a period of time. In the same way that a microwave cooks food, RF energy heats the dermis. This process is called “controlled destruction of collagen” and it is only possible with RF because of its high frequency (RF) energy. RF energy is very safe and results are seen immediately. There is no downtime or recovery time.

The treatment causes a tightening of the skin immediately, which improves the appearance of scars, stretch marks and lax skin. The RF energy is absorbed by the skin and is converted to heat. The heat causes collagen contraction which results in tightening and new collagen production. The new collagen that replaces the damaged collagen can be identified with a technique called “collagen mapping. The RF technology is the most effective and safest way to treat the skin. The RF energy activates the cells in the skin, which results in collagen production and tightening. It also helps to improve skin elasticity and tone, which can reduce scarring and stretch marks.

RF microneedling causes the skin structure to regenerate, forming new collagen and elastin fibers. Radiofrequency microneedling creates channels in the skin that are deeper and more permanent than those created by micro-needling. Microneedling is usually performed on the face, neck and décolleté, and is used to treat acne scars and wrinkles. Microneedling is a non-invasive treatment that is used to stimulate collagen production and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation and acne scars.

Radiofrequency helps improve tighten sagging skin, get rid of fine lines, decrease pore size, improve skin texture and tone, and improve the appearance of stretch marks. Radiofrequency (RF) energy is the most advanced modality available for treating stretch marks.  The cost of  RF microneedlling is about $500. for the face.  The cost  can ranges depending on the size and number of the treatment areas.

You may notice a decrease in the appearance of fine lines or wrinkles within two weeks after treatment. Will the results be permanent? The results of micro-needling will last for at least 12 months. More treatments may be necessary to maintain optimal results.

When can I return to my normal activities?
