Erectile dysfunction (ED) is not uncommon. It is not surprising that with so many stressors in life, many of us have very little desire or energy for sex. We all know that sex can be a great way to reduce stress. The positive feelings associated with sex are largely due to emotional and physical relief caused by the release of endorphins. Unfortunately, chronic psychological and physical stress often reduce our sex drive and ability to perform and enjoy sex. There are many advantages to maintaining a healthy level of sexual activity, which includes reducing the incidence of heart attacks, increasing lifespan, maintaining a sense of well-being and improving one’s quality of life.
According to the American Medical Association, 31% of men in the U.S. suffer from some form of sexual dysfunction. Research studies are beginning to recognize sexual function changes associated with stress. Stress can have tangible effects on our reproductive system. It disrupts sex hormones like testosterone, which can lead to sexual dysfunction and decreased sex drive in men.
When a man is stressed, cortisol, a hormone, is released. Cortisol blocks hormones produced in the pituitary gland that is necessary for sperm production in men. At the level of the testicle, cortisol suppresses testosterone in men. Cortisol affects reproduction at many levels to decrease the possibility of reproduction during stressful times. The biochemistry of how chronic stress affects a man’s reproductive system is not yet completely understood. However, it is clear that several important body systems are disrupted the result of which can lead to sexual dysfunction and infertility.
Increased sympathetic nervous system and decreased parasympathetic systems function caused by stress lead to decreased blood flow and sensitivity. Good blood flow and nerve function at important for sexual arousal and in achieving an erection. Poor blood circulation is associated with aging and cardiovascular disease can lead to erectile dysfunction.
Atlanta GainsWave at Taylor Medical Group gets to the root of the problem by providing cutting edge screening tests to identify men with decreased blood flow and nerve function, low testosterone levels, and other medical conditions i.e. high blood pressure and diabetes that can cause ED. We provide customized and state of the art comprehensive therapies i.e. GainsWave™ therapy, testosterone hormone replacement, P shot, specialized IV nutritional treatments, and specially formulated nutritional supplements to treat many of the reversible causes of ED, Peyronie’s disease and premature ejaculation.*

What is Erectile Dysfunction
Erectile dysfunction (ED) is defined as the inability of a man to attain and/or maintain an erection sufficient for sexual activity. Sexual dysfunction is not uncommon. Erectile dysfunction (ED) is more likely to occur in elderly men but can occur at any age. Older men are more likely to suffer from decreased blood flow, nerve damage and low hormone levels that contribute to ED.*
Prostate disease, trauma, neurological conditions, nerve damage, depression, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol, smoking, low testosterone, diabetes, chronic pain, and prescriptions can lead to ED. An even bigger culprit that causes ED is stress. Chronic psychological and physical stress often reduce a man’s sex drive and ability to perform and enjoy sex. Men with ED are more likely to have cardiovascular disease and suffer a cardiovascular event. ED may be a warning symptom that a cardiovascular is present.
Premature ejaculation can cause distress, frustration and lead to the avoidance of sexual intimacy. Premature ejaculation is a common sexual complaint. Estimates show that as many as 1 out of 3 men say they experience this problem at some time.
Psychological and biological factors can lead to premature ejaculation. Depression, anxiety, stress and relationship problems can cause premature ejaculation. Biological causes include abnormal hormone levels, neurotransmitter (brain chemical) imbalances, inflammation, infection, and hereditary. Premature ejaculation is a common and treatable condition that can occur at any age of a man’s life.
Peyronie’s disease is characterized by fibrous scar tissue that forms beneath the surface. Men with Peyronie’s Disease have a pronounced, often painful curvature caused by scar tissue. The curvature can cause pain and may make normal intercourse difficult or impossible. The number of men with Peyronie’s who also have Erectile Dysfunction (ED) is quite high. Nearly 80% of men with Peyronie’s Disease also report some degree of ED.
The cause of Peyronie’s disease isn’t really known. Some factors appear to be associated with Peyronie’s disease. It is thought Peyronie’s disease may result from repeated injury to the penis during sex, athletic activity or injury. It is also associated with aging especially in men over 55 and it can be heredity. Your risk factor is increased, If your father or brother has Peyronie’s disease. But in most cases, no factor is readily identifiable or recalled.
In Peyronie’s disease, when the penis becomes erect, the region with the scar tissue doesn’t stretch, and the penis bends or becomes disfigured and possibly painful.
Other factors — including certain health conditions, smoking and some types of prostate surgery — might be linked to Peyronie’s disease.
Conventional ED treatments, such as oral ED medications are not recommended for men who have ED and Peyronie’s. In fact, ED drugs warn against its use in men with Peyronie’s Disease. The problem is ED drugs increase blood flow, but they cannot do anything to lessen the scar tissue causing Peyronie’s. In a way, ED in men with Peyronie’s is a kind of defense mechanism.
Unlike ED drugs, the mildly pulsating waves of the GAINSWave™ male enhancement can both, reduce the scar tissue of Peyronie’s as well as increase blood flow. Therefore, GAINSWave is a safer, more effective way of treating men with Peyronie’s disease and Erectile Dysfunction. The GAINSWave™ male enhancement has been shown to be a drug-free, surgery-free way to breakdown the scar tissue and reduce the curvature that is typical of Peyronie’s Disease.
What is Male Enhancement
Male enhancement is a new cutting edge medical specialty which improves male sexual function and treats conditions like erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation. The technology surrounding male enhancement has grown by leaps and bounds. For decades, researchers have studied treatments similar to the GAINSWave™ Male Enhancement and ED treatment. These treatments have been used successfully in Europe, where it is known as extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT). ESWT for ED is still new to the U.S. We are one of the few leading medical practices to offer this treatment. It is believed that the shockwaves also have the ability to “wake-up” dormant stem cells and stimulate the growth of new blood vessels and nerves which can lead to enhanced tissue growth and improved function.*

Depending on your age and medical history, we may combine the GAINSWave™ erectile dysfunction treatment with other wellness treatments, such as hormone pellets, IV nutritional therapy, and the P shot® to maximize the effectiveness of your treatment.*
About Acoustic Shockwave Therapy
Acoustic shockwave therapy is divided into three types of intensity, high intensity, medium intensity, and low intensity. High-intensity acoustic shockwave therapy has been used in the United States for many years to treat kidney stones during a procedure called lithotripsy. Lithotripsy uses high-intensity acoustic shockwaves to destroy kidney stones that can then be passed in the urine. Medium intensity acoustic therapy is used to treat muscular-skeletal injections because it decreases inflammation and increases blood flow. Low-intensity acoustic therapy which the GainsWave™ treatment uses regenerate cells, break up blood vessel plague and lead to the production of new blood vessels and nerve cells.*
